The Cake Cutting ...

Take the high road when feeding you husband or wife the first bite of your wedding cake. This is the kind of thing that should be decided in advance. Many grooms and some brides will think of the current fashion for smashing the cake into the other's mouth as funny. If you don't want this to happen to you, explain how long a wedding updo takes and make sure he knows how little you want to spend the rest of your reception with cake on your face, in your hair and on your dress! Secure the promise well in months ahead of time. On the other hand, if you get smashed, try to be a good sport about it. You don't want to focus on anything unpleasant for too long on your wedding day. Always try to be happy - Go ahead and smash back!

WHEN SHOULD YOU DO YOUR FIRST DANCE
Ideally you would perform your first dance as soon as everyone sits down for dinner. Hopefully they will remain seated so that you will have plenty of room on the dance floor. Also, take it from a professional, you will much lighter and have more fun not dancing on a very full stomach!

WHAT IS THE TRADION BEHIND THE GROOM'S CAKE!
The tradition of a "Groom's Cake" comes from England and Ireland. There, the traditional groom's cake is a fruit cake with white icing. The groom's cake is usually served along with the traditional wedding cake. Today groom's cakes are very often chocolate instead of the traditional fruit cake. This allows the groom an outlet for self expression.
