More About Flowers ...

Leave the really important flowers like the bouquets, boutonnieres and large arrangements to the professionals, but tackle some of the minor things like table decorations yourself. I bought glass bowl/vases from Joan Fabrics at about 90 cents each, filled them half way with water to float a candle in and surrounded it with baby's breath from giant. I think it worked out to cost about 2 dollars a table and the guests loved them. Rose petals or confetti would work as well.

"POSTURE"
Many couples getting married today do not know how to dance. Being nervous and insecure about dancing in front of a crowd tends to show in one's posture. Often couples just cling to one another heads down and shoulders rounded in the high-school prom mode. There is not a wedding dress or tux made that doesn't look better when you stand up straight with your shoulders back, neck straight and chin held high. So when you dance, try to keep an erect posture and look each other in the eye. This not only looks better, but is one of the keys to true leading and following.

Why Does the Groom wear a Boutonniere?

This tradition stems from the Romantic traditions of medieval knights. A lady who was fond of, or supported a knight would give him a token such as a scarf, ribbon or flower (usually of the same color she wore) to carry into tournaments or to battle. This displaying of this token was known as "wearing a ladies colors". The Groom and groomsmen's flowers echo the the bride's choice of colors and flowers in her bouquet, so in effect, they are all wearing the colors of the Bride.
